Vibhuti Pada is often the most daunting section of the Yoga Sutras. Its descriptions of extraordinary perception and developed powers can feel inaccessible, impractical, or disconnected from the earlier teachings of the text. Many practitioners rush through this chapter, set it aside, or assume it does not apply to ordinary human life.
This workshop is for those who have studied other portions of the Yoga Sutras and are now ready to engage directly with Vibhuti Pada. It is especially supportive for practitioners who may have encountered this chapter before and found it confusing or overwhelming, as well as for those who have studied the Yoga Sutras more broadly but felt this chapter was too abstract or removed to be useful.
Approaching Vibhuti Pada through the lens of practice and discernment, we will explore these sutras as descriptions of powers that arise through ethical grounding, disciplined attention, and inner steadiness. These capacities are real developments of the human mind and are meant to be met with responsibility rather than spectacle.
